Garnet ring with enamel daisies, hallmarked Birmingham 1973
Here’s a striking vintage ring starring a handsome cabochon-cut garnet ringed by six pretty enamel daisies.
It’s a combination of contrasts: the reddish brown gemstone alongside the sky blue surround; the large, smooth garnet beside the delicately picked out flowers – masculine and feminine made one.
Hallmarked Birmingham 1973, its maker has paid homage to the past, with design elements harking back to the Georgian and Edwardian eras.
It’s eye-catching from every angle – we love the basket undercarriage and “flying saucer” profile.
And it has been beautifully looked after – the enamel is pristine.
